I am a painter, printmaker, designer, and writer. I live somewhere in the Los Angeles County sprawl. I am d/hoh.
I got my BFA from The University of North Texas in 2009. My work on infrastructure and the urban environment was featured in New American Paintings Magazine #121, and is in the Frederick R. Weisman Foundation collection. My favorite past show was the Tracing Lines exhibit at the Ohio State University Urban Arts Space, where I also hosted my etching without a press workshop. From July 12 – October 12 my paintings are part of the Roots of Cool exhibition at Descanso Gardens. I am a Spring 2025 Hopper Prize finalist. My work is catalogued here: hopperprize.org/diana-kohne
My paintings and printmaking depict urban reality, while my three dimensional work focuses on the environment and social issues. I sometimes create small abstract paintings. I also operate printmakingpress.com, which is centered around the pocket printmaking press, a handheld etching press that I designed.
