I started using this small handheld “pocket press” in the late aughts, and about a decade ago I began to make them for fellow printmakers who also seek to print more than linocuts at home. This little roller press can print etchings and monoprints and relief prints much wider than its rollers, and it takes up about as much space as a coffee mug. I found that I favored the connection to prints that I press with my own hands, so I never did upgrade to a floor or tabletop press. I did develop some additions. A pressbed board for when you are not able to clip your printmaking station to a table, and a registration pressbed so you can print linocuts with dry paper, allowing for multiple color passes. The regular kits have the best outcomes with paper soaked a little longer than usual. Purchase a press or press building plans at printmakingpress.com/shop.
