We need to keep the lettering in the same color and style, but I heard your want to include film with your landscapes and I drew these two concept sketches. Each MAEVE logo features either a landscape or only 1-2 objects, so it has been a puzzle. I decided that by omitting the sun and adding a film strip border, I could balance things enough to stay on brand and hopefully, fulfill your group’s wishes.
thank you for the sketch! I’ve lived in Burbank twice and it definitely captures all the Burbank feels. I tried to strike a balance between it and the MAEVE style, which is more minimalist. Most icons only feature one or two objects. I divided it up between two Burbank essences- the natural vibe and the industry vibe. I was able to sneak a palm tree onto that film strip though! Maybe I can adjust it slightly more horizontal so that we know it is echoing the Verdugos. I feel like the sun behind the Verdugos with the palm trees really captures a vibe.
