I’m in a Facebook fancy rat group. Rat enthusiasts are perhaps more determined than dog rescue people, if you can believe it. They have rescue channels that swoop in every time a free rat is listed on Craigslist (to prevent any rat from becoming snake food). One happy rescuer reported back that her rescues were enjoying a trip to the grocery in her faux fur lined purse. Sometimes I remember that there is a person who brings pet rats grocery shopping and it amuses and delights me. I’m working to improve my digital illustration skills so I decided to imagine this scene.
